Vrissi beach, the main beach of Hora Sfakion is located on the western side of the village and is by far the most popular beach of the village. There is also a second beach running below the harbour promenade but it doesn't attract that many people, possibly because it is located inside a harbour basin and doesn't benefit from the lovely open views of Vrissi beach.
Type of beach: pebbles and some coarse sand. Beautiful clear sea.
Size of beach: small, around 70 m in length. There is a second beach just below the harbour front but it is less popular.
Crowds: because it's small it can get a little crowded at times.
Winds: fairly protected but can get wind from the West.
Sunbeds and umbrellas
Safe for children: drops faily quickly, no currents but can have waves if the wind is blowing strongly from the West.
Car parking: plenty of parking (you might have to pay something) at the entrance of Hora Sfakion.
Hora Sfakion is well connected by road to the North coast with frequent public buses from Chania as well as a ferry service along the South coast.
Many good tavernas in the village as well as several cafés.
