Agii Apostoli beaches

Agii Apostoli beach

Agii Apostoli beaches, just like Chryssi Akti are the local beaches of Chania as they're both really nice sandy beaches within a short driving distance of town. Agii Apostoli (the name is derived from the church of the Holy Apostles located on the promontory) consists of two sandy coves. Additionally, a little to the West there is the longer but narrower beach of Glaros which goes all the way to Kalamaki. The area is quite green with pine trees and popular for walkers and runners.

Type of beach: sandy beaches

Size of beach: the eastern cove is around 150 m long, the western cove around 250 m. Glaros beach is around 800 m in length.

How busy: the two coves are very popular with locals and can get very busy at weekends and on holidays. Glaros beach also has a few larger hotels along it.

Winds: both coves are well protected unless the wind blows hard from the North. Glaros beach is quite open to the dominant West winds.
